About

A small firm. The founder does the work.

Same Hour was started by Colin Brown, an operator who built client services and intake for an education business in Tokyo, ran large programs at Google and Meta, and led web growth for a B2B publisher. He does the audits and installs himself, so the firm takes a few clients at a time.

  1. Tokyo Academics

Built the client-services organization and revenue strategy for a leading Tokyo education consulting firm: the P&L, a team of twelve, revenue up roughly 30%, client satisfaction at 98%. This is where the intake problem became personal.

  2. Bloomberg Industry Group

Ran the web growth program for a three-product B2B portfolio: a 62% conversion-rate lift, 15,000 marketing-qualified leads, and $17 million in attributed pipeline across 150 pages, 370 forms, and 700 analytics events. The five-number scorecard is a small-business version of that discipline.

  3. Meta and Google

A founding member of Meta’s global commerce program across 30 countries, with a $16 million budget and a contract worth more than $15 million. Ran Google’s Expeditions AR program in schools to more than 50 cities and 1.1 million people, with a 33-person team.

  4. Earlier

General manager at StellaService, where the flagship product went from loss to profit. Director of Operations at a technology startup. A graduate of Brown University.

  5. Today

He leads product delivery inside a large engineering organization, and Same Hour is his independent practice outside that role.

Why education, and why intake

Good teaching, leaky front door.

Families buying tutoring, test prep, or admissions help decide under time pressure, and the firms that serve them are usually run by an expert with no marketing function. The gap between good teaching and a leaky front door is the whole business.

Outside work, Colin builds learning software. Nihongo Study is a Japanese-study app he built and uses every day. It is not for sale, but it is proof that he thinks about practice design and retention, not only about forms and follow-up.

AI tools are used for drafting replies and sequences, and every module is designed to keep working without them.

How we work

Five rules.

  1. Fixed prices and written scopes. You know what it costs before you commit.

  2. A baseline before any work. Your numbers are written down first, so the monthly page means something.

  3. Everything in your name. Accounts, tools, and sequences stay yours.

  4. Ordinary tools. Your scheduling tool, email, and text messaging, with a workflow tool connecting them.

  5. A personal reply within one business day. Usually the same evening.
